Fashion + Mental Health '19

October 2019 was dedicated to elevating consciousness around how fashion can impact our mental health and understanding the importance of setting fashion boundaries for our wellbeing. 

Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices and can be affected by biological factors and life experiences. It is something that all of us contend with at least once in our lives.


According to various sources, mental health issues are rising significantly, and now, somewhere between 1 in 5 and 1 in 10 people suffer with mental health every single year. How does fashion impact our mental health? Are the pressures of being seen on screen via social media detrimental to our sense of self or are we using fashion to feel empowered? Does fashion really make us happy? 


In October 2019, we partnered with Chasing The Stigma and No Panic for our Fashion + Mental Health edition in October 2019, to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
