The World Needs You: Be A Hero

There is a reason why people say - If you want to change the world, start with yourself.

It takes small steps. Small changes make the world go round. If we want to change the world for the better, it is essential that we look at what we are doing wrong and how to fix it. It is our duty to consider how our planet will look in more than fifty years. What can we do to help the environment?

Here are some questions you should ask yourself:

  • Do we take care of our planet as we take care of ourselves?

  • Do we care about life in this world as much as we care about our comfort?

  • Do we care about our grandchildren's futures as much as we do about our own?

There is a few steps on how to help the world from your home:

If the light is up in an empty room, one click is enough, and it is a step toward helping with the climate crisis.

When choosing a light bulb, its quality and consumption are important. According to the energy saving portal, there are several types of light bulbs that save electricity in the house and have lower carbon dioxide emissions.

Decide how many lights you need to have in one room. The smaller amount of light power, the cheaper your bills. By saving the light, you are not restricting anyone. You are contributing to a better quality of life on Earth. Lower light usage, lower energy in several rooms and lower emissions equal a better perspective for our future. The right choice of light bulbs saves both electricity and your future savings.

There is no feeling like the warmth of home

But do we have to have a heated room before we are about to leave the house?

Understandably, people heat their homes, especially in winter. However, many households often leave the heating on for hours before returning home from work or shopping. There are other ways to save energy and stay warm - not just by owning a fireplace. After you put on a sweater or a comfortable onesie, set the thermostat to a lower temperature but do not leave it on for the whole day. Turn on the heating only when you need it.

Prefer making a warm soup or tea and relaxing in the warmth of your home while saving bills, energy and our planet.

What makes our life easier consumes more energy than we think

When buying household appliances, such as fridges, dishwashers, washing machines, or dryers, you need to look not only at the lifespan of the given product but also at the impact it has on the environment.

According to the website on electrical safety, you should look for a product with the Energy Saving Recommended logo. These appliances are more efficient for our household and nature, and using them will save you tens of pounds a year. Unless you live in a large household, ask yourself if you need to own a dryer, or if you can get by with a simple, inexpensive clothes rack that does not require electricity.

In the case of a washing machine, wash only when necessary and when you have filled most of the washing machine with clothes but - do not overfill it, because then the washing machine will use more energy than it should. The dishwasher functions in the same manner. Does it need to be turned on because of the three plates? We don´t think so.

Improve your life not only for yourself but also for nature.

Life is a cycle – RECYCLE!

It does not have to be difficult to help the world. As we mentioned earlier in the article, small actions help to achieve greater success. Do you recycle? If not, you should.

Young but also older people do not always cook at home. They either order food or go to eat in a restaurant. Have you ever noticed how much packaging, including boxes and bags, comes from the products we use every day?

How many new clothes will you get in a few months? The products we buy can be found second-hand or by asking a friend. Someone else might need what we do not. Let's support one another and check out garage sales and used boutiques rather than spending money on items with a NEW tag.

It is cheaper and more gentle. For people and the environment.

According to the website that supports recycling and waste-free living, recycling results in fewer carbon emissions than new products and reduces deforestation, which lowers greenhouse gas emissions and the impacts of climate change.

We can save the world by helping each other. Doesn't that sound great?
