About

My name is Chloe and I am a mature student studying for an MSc in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. I have always been curious about the mind and have wanted to understand more about human behaviour for many years. The motivation for returning to university was that I went through a period of mental ill health that has taken many years to learn to manage. From this experience I decided it was time for me to pursue my interest in Psychology and to use my experiences to help others going through difficult experiences. I am a helpline volunteer for OCD-UK, a charity established in 2004 that has a strong focus on recovery and campaigns to reduce misconceptions around Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). During my short time at the charity I have found the role to be fulfilling and I particularly enjoy the feeling I get in empowering others to take positive steps towards their own recovery.

My time outside of work involves spending hours with my head in a book! This is because I love reading. In particular, I enjoy reading about other people and how they have overcome personal challenges in their lives. If I am not reading, I am looking for the latest gig to attend! Yes, I also love music. Any music, but something with a good beat has to be my go-to! The best experience I have had has got to be Leeds Festival in 2017 with my best friend!
