Emotional, psychological, and social well-being are all elements of mental health. It has an impact on cognition, perception, and behaviour. It also influences how a person deals with pressure, frustrations, interpersonal relationships, and decision-making. Mental awareness has been brought about by:

2. Loneliness

3. Being subjected to discrimination and stigma

4. Loosing someone close to you

5. Social deprivation, poverty, or debt

6. Stress

8. Domestic Violence

9. Physical causes like head injury

Mental Health Statistics

Every year, one in every four people in England will suffer from a mental health problem of some kind. In any given week in England, one in every six people reports having a common mental health problem (such as anxiety or depression). Mental health and substance use disorders affect 13% of the world's population. This figure could rise as people around the world seek refuge and adjust to a new normal amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Importance of Mental Awareness

Increased awareness on mental wellness and people asking for help when they feel conflicted can help promote mental health and behavioural health treatment. The advantage of taking care of ones mental health include:
